Among the possibilities for unique experiences and emotions in Orduña it is perhaps paragliding that gives the greatest feeling of freedom: a true adrenaline rush.
This fascinating activity will put the world at your feet, imprinting on your mind astonishing views of some of the most beautiful mountains and valleys in the Basque Country.
The Sierra Sálvada and the Orduña and Arrastaria Valley is considered to be one of Spain’s foremost paragliding areas.
Paragliding here is characterised by its dramatic take-off from the crest of the mountain ridge, by its striking verticality and slope soaring or thermal-slope flying.
The flying season runs from spring to late summer, when there are often appropriate thermal conditions, particularly in the morning.
The flying area follows the Gorobel-Sálvada ridge as far as the summit of Iturrigorri, west of the take-off zone, and pilots can fly as far as the Villasana de Mena area when conditions are optimum.
